An Act to regulate higher education. The Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) regulates and assures the quality of Australia's large, diverse and complex higher education sector.

TEQSA registers and evaluates the performance of higher education providers against the Higher Education Standards Framework. The Standards Framework comprises seven domains: Student participation and attainment; learning environment; teaching; research and research training; institutional quality assurance; governance and accountability; and representation, information and information management.
