Roles

There are five main roles in the compliance system. The VC compliance Delegate is responsible for whole of University compliance for assigned compliance drivers (a compliance driver is what the University needs to comply with). The Compliance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the activities to make sure the University complies at the driver level. The Responsible Manager is responsible for assigned compliance obligations (compliance obligations are what we need to do in order to comply) and ensuring the University does what it needs to do to meet the obligation. If required a Coordinating Officer will assist the Responsible Manager in their role.  Responsibility for processing tasks (how we do it) is assigned to the Local Compliance Officer. It is important to note that one person might be expected to fulfil multiple roles.

 

Please note: the Policy, Records and Governance Team are responsible for:

  • Reporting on compliance status
  • Maintenance of the Compliance Register System base data (such as users, positions and divisions)
  • Training users on the effective and efficient use of the Compliance Register System
