Overview The Radio Communications Act is concerned with the regulating the use of the radio frequency spectrum within Australia. The operation of all radiocommunications transmitters, including broadcasting transmitters must be authorised by a licence issued under the Act. This Act has relevance for the University as the operator of a Radio Station.

The University has been issued with a Broadcasting Licence - "Narrowcasting Service stations (HPON)". Open narrowcasting services are defined in section 18 of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992.
