The Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination 1966 (CERD) (the Convention) is a United Nations convention. The Convention commits it members to the elimination of racial discrimination and the promotion of understanding among races. More than 156 countries (four-fifths of the membership of the UN) have ratified the Convention; including Australia, which ratified the Convention on 30 September 1975. Legislation, Standards and Codes may be linked to one or more of the University's compliance frameworks either as the driver of the requirements, or as a component of the framework.
