Overview The object of this Act is to regulate the export, import and transit of hazardous waste to ensure that exported, imported or transited waste is managed in an environmentally sound manner so that human beings and the environment, both within and outside Australia, are protected from the harmful effects of the waste.

This driver has low applicability to UNE, directly or through its waste service providers, as it neither imports or exports waste. This driver will remain active for information purposes only. Obligations will only be established if UNE changes its waste management activities.
