Overview DUPLICATE DRIVER - DO NOT USE
The objects of this Act are:
(a) to reduce the negative impact of weeds on the economy, community and environment of NSW by establishing control mechanisms to:
(i) prevent the establishment of significant new weeds, and
(ii) prevent, eliminate or restrict the spread of particular significant weeds, and
(iii) effectively manage widespread significant weeds,
(b) to provide for the monitoring of and reporting on the effectiveness of the management of weeds in NSW.

The Act is implemented and enforced by the Local Control Authority (LCA) for an area (usually local government), and imposes obligations on occupiers of land to control noxious weeds declared for their area.
